IMPORTANT UPDATE — 3/31/14
As your hometown Cable TV provider, we’re a part of your community and we work hard to give you the best value possible.
Our cooperative is in talks with Viacom, the owner of cable networks such as Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, VH1, TV Land, BET and many others. Viacom has demanded a rate increase that’s 40 times the rate of inflation. That’s like pulling up to the gas pump and finding out that gas has gone from $3.50 a gallon to $6.00 – overnight! And Viacom may demand we drop their networks if we don’t agree to their proposal. (to put this into perspective – your personal cable bill would increase $5.00 per month). Our cooperative is trying VERY hard to keep this from happening, so that we can keep your rates as low as possible.
Typically, networks will grant extensions as negotiations continue, Viacom is refusing to grant any type of extension for the National TV Co-Op. (This is effecting FamilyView, as well as about 800 other cable providers.)
